Project 1 - Lego (6)

The result of the drawing machine:

- the First materal : drink satchet



- The Second Material : painting ink

Other Accessary:


- The Brush: put under the spinning sweeper which it will swipe the ground when it moves.




- Drink Satchets: the one kind of the drawing material. dropping the water will make it's color.



- Glow Stick: One of the performance of the machine. fitted to tyres.




-Laser Light and Cotton ball: The Laser light is another performance of the machine and the cotton ball is the other kind the dawing materials with using the paint ink.





- The Field:

- we used the boxes to making the wall, and using the gib board at the ground.
- in the middle, we put A2 sized canvas in the centre of the field to make the machine starts to drawing it.

Steps of making:

1. Start of the basement of the machine:
- if the basement is too weak, the machine will broken. the reason is that it cannot hold 2 NXT and the other accessary.


2. putting the spinning sweeper:
- installed it before continue making the machine. it won't going to fit after making the machine.


3. check the half way through:
- checked it if it's anything wrong.


4. install the NXTs at the top of the machine.
- the 2 NXT makes the machine moves more easier. the basement need to make strong to hold the 2 heavy NXTs.


5. Install everything:
- now, installed ultrasonic and sound sensor and ready to making the program.



* in this project, things that I've learned is that improve my creativity to focus on this machine. and think how to make the robot moves and drawing perfectly without any error occurs.

Project 1 - Drawing Machine

* things to do :

# To construct visualisation machine and produce 3 drawings from it.

# The machine must be demonstrated in class 10am on Friday March 19.

# The machine must respond to input data - sound, distance, touch, and incorporate pre-programmed protocol responses.



1. Construct the drawing machine.

- The name of the design: The street sweeper.






2. To find the resources:

- we need materials to use with the robot. so, we go and find it downtown wearhouse.

Project 1 - Lego (2)

Project 1 - Lego

* making a new robot.
# move from front door to the BCT office.
# Knock on the door or ask Pat a question.
# No longer need to use your protocol.


1. Making a new robot and move from door to office.

# We made the humanoid before. but, it is too slow and takes year to go to office.

# So, we've change the design of the tribot like the picture at the bottom.

# the direction is under the picture.







































# We failed because the tribot is backward. We forgot to put the light sensor in the robot. the reason is that the lecture put tapes on the ground which it can follow.

Project 1 - Lego (1)

Project 1 - Lego

* Using the Program Lego Mindstorm to make a Tribot.


- Programme the tribot with the protocol ( Chess Piece).



- Re-deploy sensors and re-construct the tribot as require by your protocol.

- Each protocol sequence must be completed within a 2m X 2m area.


1. Program the tribot:


# We design the vehicle with using the instruction paper book which inside the Mindstorm box.




# From the picture, we don't have light sensor. but, without that it is exactly same as our tribot.


2. Re-deploy and Re-construct:

# We put the voice sensor at the front of the machine like the picture above. and put the order into it.

# The Order: - It start moves when the tribot hear the any big sound like 'clap'.

- It moves left diagonally of 3 units and stop. it will continues move if it hear the 'clap'.


3. Complete within 2m X 2m area:


# we passed but don't have a file to upload.

# our tribot is the one which is beside the blue ball tribot. (the one's with the voice sensor)




- Analysing this project:

# The tribot is kind of the A.I(Artificial Intelligence). it will follows when we making a rules with using the Lego Mindstorm. also, with the sensor, it can hear, see, and touch when we making the rule.

# The main points of this project: - Making our own creativity. it is good to make our own tribot which we can improve our creative knowledge. also, we learn how to make the tribot to go from A to B with using the program.

# The outcome: - Gain the creative knowledge from tribot. and learn the basic system of the program called LEGO Mindstorm.

Project 1 - Protocol -




* Make up new Chess Piece or Character.


- Describe the characteristics of this new piece.

- Define a simple protocol for this piece.


- Define the protocol units.

- Create a diagram to illustrate.



1. Make up new Chess Piece or Character:

Names: a) Micheal Jackson
b) The Spartan
c) The Dark Lord etc.


# We choose the name called : The Element Master.


2. Describe the characteristics:


# The Element Master: The Element Master can only control all the Elements such as fire, water, wind, earth etc.


3. define a simple protocol:


# The Element Master can move a possible 3 units in any diagonal direction anyway but must reverse diagonally after its second move.


4. create the diagram to illustrate:

Project 1 Lego - I like this model !


It is designed to be scorpion.
I really like this model ! I am going to make it ! :)
